Ethernet Bridging with a TAP-Device

Hallo,

i would like to do Ethernet Bridging with a TAP-Device. Can i do it without OpenVPN? (http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-so...-bridging.html)
I don't know how to crate a TAP-Device, here(http://backreference.org/2010/03/26/...face-tutorial/) are some commands, but i don't understand it.
Especially it is not clear for me, where you have to define the remote endpoint, how you have to do it for a TUN-Device(http://www.linuxfoundation.org/colla...king/tunneling).

The other side of a tap device is a file in /dev, it does not make a tunnel without additional software. You don't need to use OpenVPN as there are alternatives.
