Ethernet Bridging with a TAP-Device

i would like to do Ethernet Bridging with a TAP-Device. Can i do it without OpenVPN? (
I don't know how to crate a TAP-Device, here( are some commands, but i don't understand it.
Especially it is not clear for me, where you have to define the remote endpoint, how you have to do it for a TUN-Device(

The other side of a tap device is a file in /dev, it does not make a tunnel without additional software. You don't need to use OpenVPN as there are alternatives.
