eth0 up but can't connect


eth0 says it is comming up but I can not connect to the network. I can ping the address on the nic but not anything on the network. Lite-On LNE100TX card with Mandrake 10.1. I have the same nic/os on another box working.

ifconfig output (typed manualy)

This may not be of much help... But just got this doubt. Is your cable/other physical connections alright?

They should be. The lights come on and I connected my PDA to the lan though the same cable and was able to ping other machines on the network.

try "ifconfig eth0 up", and adding in your nameserver information into /etc/resolv.conf

Please post the output for the following commands:

netstat -i

ping remote_ip

ifconfig of another host on the netowrk

I got it to work with another nic. I put the previous nic in another computer that was working correctly and had the same problem. At the mement I am going to write it off as a bad card. Thanks for everyones input.
