eth0 eth1 ppp0
Hi all,
I have set up an xDSL (PPPoE) connection on my first ethernet card (eth0) as ppp0 and it works! The problem is that I have to wait for my two ethernet cards to fail getting any IP addresses when booting before ppp0 successfully connects.
As can be seen from the messages file below, eth0 (and eth1) try to get their IP addresses using DHCP before ppp0 has connected.
Thank you for your help!

ok, I inactivated eth1 because I don't need it. I tried also to inactivate eth0, which made the boot faster but now the ppp0 logical device (which uses the eth0 card) did not get activated also and I had to install the internet connection manually after the boot. So, either way, it's extra effort.
Of course, online help is preferred. Barring that, any pointers to a good networking tutorial ?

maybe you should activate it after you boot up, then
try the DSL stuff. If you never activate the card, then
im guessing u wont be able to use it.
