Angry eth0 and eth1 RTNETLINK answers: File existslike RT trouble....need some helpHello

Hello

I'm running mandrake 9.0 on a pc connected with a 509b card to a dhcp server and with a t-lan card (compaq) to a xp workstation with a static adress.

I can either connect the dhcp server or the xp workstation with my first card but never both. My system allow me to see and configure the two cards but most of the time, when I run ifup eth1 after eth0, I get no connection or error messages like " RTNETLINK answers: File exists"... What does that mean????

Sorry but my english is quite poor.....
