eth0 and eth1 confusion

I am using Suse knetwork manager and I just installed a second NIC card. It gets recognized ok but I have a couple of questions/issues:

1) When the knetwork manager starts it always chooses eth1 instead of eth0 to activate. Is there some way to change the system to activate eth0.

2) I need both cards activated. How do I do that?

eth0 is via a router
eth1 is via a different router.

Both have static IP addresses.

Thanks

What you are asking is simple to do from the command line or with scripts, but I have no idea how it would be done with SuSE's graphical software you are using.

Perhaps you should request the topic gets moved there, you are likely to get better answers.

If you have the configuration files in the correct places, you could do try a simple
Code:
ifup eth1
If you want to manually add the address, you might try something like (using a test address)
Code:
ip address add 198.18.0.1/15 broadcast 198.19.255.255 dev eth1
