Error when trying to install Samba to access printer on Windows network
I am trying to add a networked printer on our windows network running red hat 9. When I go to add it, it tells me I need to install the Samba client. I have the package "samba-2.2.8a-1.rpm" which I am trying to use...when I go to install, it tells me that it cannot locate package "libreadline.so.3", and cannot continue until that package is installed. My system is completely up to date with all updates, and I can not find libreadline.so.3 anywhere. How do I fix this, and will this let me print to our HP printer? Thanks so much in advance. :study:

You have probably already done all this, but...
I have a recollection that the samba client and samba server are separate packages. search for libreadline.so.3 on sourceforge.net or rpmfind.net maybe even a google search for linux libreadline. Once you have found out which RPM is lives in you can get it from the RH ftp site. Rgds, Bruce |
