Error Mounting Windows SMB Share

Hi,

I attempted to mount a windows shared dirve as follows:

mount -t smbfs -o username=xxx,password=yyy //lalfs2/d /lalfs/d

and received the following error message:
cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and we have disabled it.
15998: protocol negotiation failed
SMB connection failed

Note, I can connect to this share when using smbclient just fine.

Any ideas of why this is happening?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peter

The last time I tried SMB signing with Samba it didn't work, I have no idea if it's been fixed or not. And smbfs is pretty much unmaintained these days, give cifs a try instead.
