Unhappy Error Copying File or Folder

I have a Fedora Core Linux server that I'm using for file server purposes. I am running the stock install of Samba on that machine.

My client machine is an XP Pro box running SP1. When I copy files to the linux server, sometimes I get the following error:

"Error Copying File or Folder"
"Cannot copy FILENAME: Cannot find the specified file."
"Make sure you specify the correct path and file name."

Sometimes I get this when I copy just a few small files no larger than 5MB. Right now, I am trying to copy a file that is about 4GB, and it dies in the first 10 seconds of transfer. The strange thing is that sometimes I can copy smaller folders/files without any trouble. What is going on? Is this a timeout issue? Security? Please help.

Thank you in advance,
Erik

Linux smbfs implementation is currently limited to 2 GiB
When files > 2 GiB are created in ext2 older kernels will mount file systems only read-only

The odd thing is that a few weeks ago I moved files that were 4GB in size to the server. Now I can't seem to move something that big at all. I can't think of anything I have done to the server or my workstation to allow this. Even when I could move big files in the past, I would get this error sometimes 1/2 way through the transfer, and have to do it over again.

I am pretty sure that file size is not the factor as I can get this when I move a 5MB file. Further research on this makes me wonder if there is a problem with Samba. I guess there is a fix for this issue in the latest release. I'm going to try it. I'll post here if that does nothing for me, otherwise consider this topic over.

Thanks,
Erik
