Smile Enable networking after reboot

Dear all,

I am new to Redhat. I have already installed Redhat 9 Linux. My server have one on-board LAN device. I need to load the LAN driver by tar zxvf 3c2000.tar.gz. Afterwards, I need to run insmod 3c2000.o to activate the LAN modules.

Now, I would like to assign IP Address, Subnet Mask, and gateway, DNS, etc....to RedHat. Also, I want RedHat to assign those settings automatically after reboot. What can I do? Please advise, Thanks.

Urgent!

Mr. Lee

goto this folder:

/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

look for a file like: ifcfg-eth0 (or relevant etho card)

$ vi ifcfg-eth0

it should look like this:

DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=none
ONBOOT=yes
USERCTL=no
PEERDNS=no
TYPE=Ethernet
IPADDR=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
GATEWAY=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
NETWORK=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
BROADCAST=XXX.XXX.XXX.XX

or you can use the network GUI within redhat

Thanks..
