Email <--> fax service

I'd like to send and receive faxes without using a phone line, i.e.
- send a document or email to a fax number
- receive a fax via email

www.efax.com offers this service but requires Win software to collect and send faxes. I tried getting their code to work with wine/crossover but no luck.

Can anyone suggest a linux friendly service?

Might be a stupid question, but what is wrong with sending the fax over your email client to
<faxnumber>@efaxsend.com ?

Hmm...on reading the website a bit closer I now realise that their windows software is optional. As you quite rightly point out, an email client will do the job. Must have been a bit low on caffeine when I read it first time around.

Now that problem - dreadfull isnt it. Well always nice to find a easy way out.
