email and server

I have the following question.

I got an Linux server (slackware 8.1) which has an IRC server - httpd server - and I just configured sendmail on it correctly so it would receive emails

I have my domain forwarded to my home ip
www.mydomain.com and all emails with ....@mydomain.com comes to the user that sendmail has.
I can read that mail using webmin.
what I need to do know is to make so, that people on the network can receive the mail in their mailbox, what program and setting do I need for that?

so I generally need a program where people can connect to, to get their mail.

Please help

u need a pop3 or an imap server. are u sure that their mailsl are spooled in ur server? (/var/spool/mail/*).

for pop3, slack has the ipop3d tgz file. u need to install it, enable it in inetd and restart inetd.

then, ur client pcs can point their email software to have your slack box as the pop3 server.

hth.

I had to install a new glibc version

so I did, now I can't connect to the server anymore with ssh
what is the problem, and what can I do to fix it?

the new glibc version was needed to install pop3d

look at your log files to see what the ssh server is complaining about. try /var/log/messages and /var/log/secure
