I have two ethernet cards on my system. Both of them are configured to be inthe same network and gateway.when i reboot the system and run the ifconfig command only one of the cards is showing up .I have to manually get the other card up specifying the ip address and gateway everytime.I have added both aliases in the modprobe.conf file(iam using RedHat EL 4).Please tell me how to make both entries permanent.
You will see a file for ethernet card(s) like ifcfg_eth0, ifcfg_eth1, etc. Look at the config file for the NIC that starts at boot, compare it with the file for NIC that does not.
See it?? You should.
Don't worry about resolv file that is for an entirely different purpose, nothing to do with hardware.
