ecia dsl and usbfs mounting

It started when I tried to install dsl200 ecia usb modem drivers on SuSe 10.2. It turned out, that drivers starting script tries to mount /proc/bus/usb and fails to load without it. It also turned out that novell excluded usbfs (which mounts to /proc/bus/usb) support from the new kernel. I recompiled the kernel and configured booter to load the new kernel image file.

Now here's the problem: after restarting the system drivers behavior didn't change. The same error.
Finally i found additional uhci modules should be loaded. I did load them and still nothing changed.

I checked the booting logs - seems like usbfs is there. I also ran the following commands, which shows (I guess), that usbfs is supported:

Code:
localhost:/home/snitko/Desktop/dsl/eciadsl10 # dmesg |grep usb

Anyway, trying to mount /proc/bus/usb fails, even though there is a line about it in fstab.

Any ideas?
