easy question about TCP SACK

different people have told me differently,

In the presence of SACK, what happens when a packet is dropped
twice..meaning the packet is dropped, 3 dupacks are received, a fast
retransmit occurs and that packet is dropped again. How long does it
wait before it retransmits the packet a second time? or does it
timeout?

Thanks! you guys are great
