Easy Question about sendmail for GURUS

When I use sendmail and send an email to my outside email address it comes from (root@localhost.localdomain)

What do I need to edit in linux to make it say root@muppet.headquarters.com ?

Have you tried putting this into your sendmail.mc file?

define(`confDOMAIN_NAME', `muppet.headquarters.com')

You may also need:

MASQUERADE_AS(muppet.headquarters.com)

I'm too lazy to look up the details of these two things right now.

you can also edit the original sendmail.cf and look for the line

# my official domain name
Dj

I think this also does the trick..
