Unhappy e1000 woes

I've been having problems since day1 with the card.

Its an Intel Giga, not sure exactly on make, dont feel like cat the /proc/pci lol.

But I find the strangest thing going on, I have a Linksys giga switch, run broadcom xp systems, no probs at all with the giga.

With the e1000 on my nix* box, it will randomly loose its link with the switch, all the lights go off like it was disconnected.

I've redone the cable heads from a's to b's, switched out the cord with many others, even changed what port the e1000 is on.

But it still randomly looses its link. Currently I have acpi off in bios, and not triggered as acpi=on in the kernel boot.

Any ideas?

months still, no kernel fixes this, still having problems with 2.6.5 and 2.6.6, switched from rh9 to fedora core1, still probs, went core2 +full development, still problems.

It only seems to happen on broadcasts.. or sustained samba transfers, ive disabled samba, and it still does it :/
