Question Dyn. update of DNS zone in BIND 9.2.1 on RH8.0?

I am running Bind 9.2.1-16 on Redhat 8.0 and need to have my DNS database auto updated.
I have set both the forward and the reverse zone to allow-update "any" and only the reverse zone gets new entries.
All the parameters are the same for both the forward and the reverse. They are exactly the same. All file permissions are good as well.
I can manually update the database with nsupdate BTW.
I watch the named log and see no errors at all. I can see the additions made to the rev. zone however.

Is there something about RH's Bind 9.2.1-16 that would produce this result?
What could I be missing???
