Question DSL Connection Sharing


Hello everyone,

1. I have Windows XP Professional with 2 Nic Cards.
1st card is for internale network 192.168.0.1
2nd nic card is for the dsl connectio 64.x.x.x
both connection going to a linksys switch

2. I have 2 Red hat 7.2 boxes with nic cards which are also going in the same linksys switch.

3. how do i share the dsl between 3 computers?????

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

well you have to get some software from the internet some connection sharing software like winroute.

when i was using connection sharing wiht a windows machine this was the one that worked fine (2 linux boxes behind and 3 windozes).

but you should consider switching to linux. it has far better solutions than winroute...

If I was to go linux route what is recommended way

If I was to go linux way how would i do it.

On Redhat 7.2 Machine I would have 2 Nics for internal and for DSL.

Any Input?

well you set up an iptables firewall and routing on the linux box.

the firewall is only for forwarding incoming and outgoing connections (but of course securing your sytem too )) and routing is for the computers inside the network to be able to find where to send the pakets to get to the internet.

there are plenty of tutorials over the net, and if you understand german, you should try the one at

raven.eplay.ch

that tutorial is from me. it is really easy...
