Dropping Network Packets
 

I just rebuilt my Linux box and now, when I access the web via HTTP protocal it starts dropping packets... (We have websites internal and external and they all fail. The internal site is sitting beside my linux box on the same subnet)

PING works perfect without packet loss
FTP seems to work perfect too...

Is it a routeing problem? or soemthing?

This same exact hardware worked perfect before I rebuilt the thing...
btw... Now my Dist is Slackware 9.1

It seems ftp, on large ls replies will fail as well...

I can make stuff work again ONLY when I release, renew my IP address from DHCP... (or reboot)

Is this an MTU Issue or should something else be set up?

NIC: PCMCIA Encore (RTL8139 chipset) NIC
Kernel: 2.2.26 kernel
PCMCIA: pcmcia-cs-3.2.7

I have tried MULTIple versions of the rtl8139 driver.
1.11 randomly panics the kernel (if no network card, no kernel panic)
1.15-1.24 will start dropping network packets as soon as I download a file from HTTP or get a big list in FTP (kernel.org)
(I've tried: 1.11, 1.15, 1.17, 1.20a, 1.22, 1.23a, 1.24)

Last time i tried the rtl81390too driver wouldn't even attempt to work with PCMCIA =(

Does anyone have anyidea as to ho I can fix this? or what is wrong?

This also happens with an IBM 10/100 EtherJet CardBus Adapter

Ok, I installed
* Kernel 2.2.19
* pcmcia-cs-3.1.26
* rtl8139.c v1.13

(Just like on my previous working linux build)
It works like this... I still get dropped packets and errors, but it continues the connections!!!
