Installed Mandrake 9.1 this weekend and now trying to get connected to the Internet. From what I've been reading on this forum it is not a simple procedure to get the WMP 11 working with Linux. When I view my hardware setup in Mandrake, it tells me the card is a Prism 2.5 Wavelan chipset.
So it's my understanding there are drivers out there that will work, but being very much a newbie in the Linux world, I'm looking for some direction from the pros.

I've read where the NIC Firmware should be updated, but the Linksys site only shows updates for Ver. 2.7 & 4??? Can anyone tell me what Firmware update I should use(if any) and also what drivers(and where they are located) I should download. I have a Windows machine where I can install the Firmware update if needed.

Or, would I be better off ditching the Linksys NIC and buying the Cicso Aironet 350, which according to posts I've read works right out of the box.
