download limit in squid

Hi all,

I am done with setting up squid and it is runnig fine. Now I want to restrict users to download files which are larger then a specified limit. I want to limit the maximum download to 100 MB. So files larger then 100 MB should not get downloaded. Where do I make the changes of specifying the limit and how to prevent them downloading large file.

Thanx.

Within your squid.conf there is an option to specifiy maximum object size. Anything over the size limit brings them the cache unavailable page whilst trying to download.

Hi,

Quote:

this only meant that Objects larger than this size will NOT be saved on disk or will not be kept in memory.
To really prevent a user form downloading a large file, you have to use reply_body_max_size option
