domain-name in isp soa - howto use for email..?

i own a domain-name..
it's now entered in the soa record with my isp..
but a check on that record shows that there is no mx record or web server record for that domain..

my suse9.3pro acts as a server for my homenet - how can i set it up to use my domain for email..?

i connect to my isp through a router with dynamic ip..

if any more info needed for this q - pls go ahead..

If you mean setting up your suse box as a mail server, you need to install an MTA. There should be several to choose from: sendmail, exim, postfix; google for "MTA comparison". Choose one and RTM.

Temporarily creating a dyndns entry while you got your other problem sorted out might be useful to you.

Depending on who the NS server is for your domain..
The Name Server (NS) should hold the extra records..

do dig -t ns your.domain then organise with that server to enter the extra records.

If you have a dynamic number, you won't be able to host services unless you use a redirecting service such as www.dyndns.com or www.easydns.com or www.no-ip.com etc
Do a Google search for "dynamic dns register" and find one that's close to you..

i do have an account with dyndns.org..
my prob is that i'm not quite sure how to interrelate the dyndns.org account with my local system and the dns record with my isp..in order to get emails in and out from my box..
i am free to setup whatever is needed on my local box..
postfix is installed and ready..
i entered a mail exchange address with my dyndns account: mail.mydomain.name
so - how do i go from here..?

Your isp needs to set the dyndns server as your NS server..
dyndns handles the rest from there to find you..

You should have management access to change your records @ dyndns..
