Doesn't see the network card !!!!

Hello. I'm a beginner with slackware 13. I just installed it on a computer with an onboard network and i'm trying to configure the NIC, but when i use the command ifconfig -a to see my NIC i only see the lo.......I understood that i must verify if my NIC is in the rc.modules, but i don't see the NIC model there.Somebody told me that slackware 13 is going to see almost all the NIC.So my question is how to make my NIC to work (i have only one NIC and i want to use the computer just for testing slackware).Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Slackware does things in a distinct and different way. Did you check out this guide by Alien Bob?

Kind regards,

Eric

Hello,

Since you kind of solved your problem by switching computer and are leaving it with that I suggest you mark this thread as solved. In regards to your MRTG question I advice you to open a new thread so that it gets the attention it deserves.

Kind regards,

Eric
