Does Win98 know the GID w/out ACL?

I'm running Samba & RH9 w/out ACL support.

What I want to do is place an Icon on the desktop of "some" users. I'm planning on using WinBatch and running it at logon. However, rather than use a error-prone, long list of usernames, I'd rather base it on the Group ID.

So the question is can Samba pass the GID to windows? Does it already? Can the logon script pull it?
