Does turning off my router and DSL modem reset or?

Does turning off my router and DSL modem then turning them back on get me a new IP address? My ISP says I have a dynamic internet connection or does it clear any kind of cache or something. Thanks

It will reset it to factory defaults(may need to unplug them)connect the modem first and then connect the router and it should get an address from the modem. Then conect one box and go to the routers configuration page and set it up.What kind of modem, what kind of router?

The modem and router are working good, What I was getting at was, is it a good idea to shut off the modem and router every so often to reset them or something to get a new IP address or just to reset them?
