Guidelines A) Ethernet connectivity -uses an ethernet card to plug it in. B)Hard-wired -to get started -uses cat5 cabling from input to output. C) NO USB plug-in -most USB in Linux requires drivers/software headaches. D)Check with the ISP -most charge a fee to rent the modem. For the same $$$ YOU can usually purchase three ADSL modems. E)ADSL Modem + Firewall + Router if YOU find one it and fits YOUR budget. F)Setup Firewall YOURSELF -leave the ISP out of the loop. They take holidays, YOU don't [IMO]. After YOU get everything working, then try the extras,...Wireless, Servers, FTP, and VOIP. Good luck.
