dnsstuff.com alternative?
Hi everyone,
My question is this: is there an alternative (a FREE alternative) to all of the same features offered by dnsstuff.com - rather than have to pay a monthly membership fee to them, I wondered if anyone knew another way to do all of the same lookups?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Welcome to LQ!
You can do all the same lookups as DNSStuff using dig, nslookup, whois, etc.
EG:
Code:
dig www.linuxquestions.org
Code:
whois www.linuxquestions.org
Since I work for an ISP who relyed on DNSStuff to do DNS checks when we received domain queries, I have been writing a set of tools as a replacement. Click Here. They are slower than DNSStuff, but we have found them to be more than adequate so far.

My favorite feature was the DNS Report that shows all of the errors for a domain at a glance.
Is there a good replacement for that part of their service?

Would be great to see https://w3dt.net/ added to this thread also .. Site was just recently overhauled with new servers located in multiple locations around the world.. Many solid tools, just like dnsstuff back in the old days..
