I setup a DNS server using Bindconf on a Redhat 7.1 box. Everything works correctly within my LAN (like pinging workstations). However, when I go to access a webpage, I'm unable to resolve the IP address.
I'm new to Linux DNS, but I thought all I would need is the /var/named/named.ca file to access webpages. Everything's correct in my resolv.conf file also.
This might be something very simple because I'm not real sure what to look for in Linux. Thanks for any help!
hmmmm can u be more specific? are u having permanent connection ... i mean a valid ip address ? or else do u use forwarder for ur dns queries ? give more tech details please.
Xanthium - Thanks for replying. Ironically, your post solved my problem! I forgot to set the forwarders.... Once I read your post last night and did a little searching on an O'reilly DNS website, it all made sense. I got it working this morning.
