DNS Warning

This is probably a very dumb question, but I'm not the greatest with Linux. I setup a DNS server and everything appears to run smoothly. However, I get a warning everytime I ping. The warning is as follows:

Warning: time of day goes back, taking countermeasures.

Can someone tell me what this is and how I can correct this? I thought I might've been missing the TTL, but I'm not.

Thanks for your help!

Mike

you're clock's wrong. it get's the answer back before it's sent it according to the data...

easy way to set your clock is to run 'rdate -s tick.august.net' as root, assuming you've got rdate installed.

Thanks for the help.

The box is currently on it's own private subnet without internet access so I'll try that once I get everything up and running. I still have to enter some more hosts to my DNS list and then I can add the box to my LAN in place of my current old DNS server.

Thanks again!
