DNS Server suggestions

I am currently trying to setup two networks with a VPN (IPCOPS on either side) however I am unable to connect the two IPCOP boxes directly as neither a routable.

I assumed that I would be able to do this with the IPCOPS however my guess is now I will need a DNS server (if this is overkill please let me know, I am all for simplicity)

Therefore this is just a query to see your recomendations for the best way to implement a DNS server, if that is indeed what I need (both networks are a combination of Windows XP (workstations), Mandriva LE2005(various server roles) and obviously IPCOPS (gateway and firewalls))

I have previously dealt with DNS servers and VPNS on Windows Server so am not a total newbie to networking, just linux.

Any help would be appreciated

Many Thanks
