dns resolvong problem


dear all
ima quiet new to dns , i have created my dns using redhat 9
its connected to windows xp computer and some other work station mainly running windows . i have my dhcp server and dns server running in the same linux machiene. my server name is server1.myarusha.com
i can make a ns look up in the server all types of test it gives me correct answer , but when i try to do a nslookup from the client computers its says unknown cant find 192.168.0.7(ipaddress of my server) no response from my server

hi there

see if DNS port 53 is open
u do not have any firewall
also can u get to ur server from ur client with the IP only

what about pinging ur DNS server, with IP and hostname both
also have u specified ur gateway as that linux server in ur client machines??
