DNS query

nice to meet you all,

after long gap i am back in Linux world.

My office has DNS servers already, it was located in different place

Now i am handling linux servers here and tried to utilise the maximum resource

instead of win2k servers (my hq has it) i tried using NIS+samba
sendmail relay, and at the final part DNS servers.

here i am getting confused

there they have ip address and here i am using

How do i configure the DNS servers here

if i do only forwarding will it be sufficient

or can i make these server as secondary server.

will any one guide me please

It's not exactly clear what you're asking to do. Both 172.16 and 192.168 are non routable IP addresses. Are they all part of one network? Or are they two LANs separated by the Internet (with or without a VPN setup)? Is one set of DNS servers supposed to resolv hosts on each of them? In shoirt, please let us know exactly what you're running into trouble doing.
