dns problem with named.ca


hello,
I am getting "ignoring out-of-zone data" error on named-checkzone. What is this ignoring out-of-zone data ?.

[root@serv root]# named-checkzone named.ca /var/named/named.ca

I think that you should upgrade your hints (.) zone. To do so, make a backup of your named.ca and then run:

dig @a.root-servers.net . ns > named.ca

but what about this error ??
That was because you used a wrong command. The name of the hint zone is (.), so you should run the named-checkzone command using the dot (.) instead of named.ca which is the zone filename.
