DNS problem
I disconnected my linuxbox because of thunders (shutted down only adsl-box, not linuxbox). After the storm, I connected it again, and now Irssi (irc-client) says "Temporary failure in name resolution".
So, it only has problems to look up dns adresses. (I can connect to it using it's ip address, so ip-adresses works?) Ifconfig looked fine when I checked them, and /etc/resolv.conf looked to be fine also. (Search, and couple ips.) What should I try? |
are you using dhcp on the linux box? if so have you restarted the network services?
|
And how do I do that?
|
To check whether dhcpd is running do
ps -de | grep dh if it shows, its running and to restart do service dhcpd restart |
Mmm... That didn't work. It didn't show up, but there also weren't such command as "service dhcpd restart".
