dns master slave trust relationship how?

Hi
I'm working on seting up a Dns server and need some help with the DNSSEC.

the master server is running Fedora core 1 with CPanel, The slave server is a RH 9 without any controll panel.
I have a script wich fetch the named.conf from the Master and converts it in to a slave entry and restart Bind. so far everything is ok except form the transfer of teh zone db files .
I get this error message

Code:
named[13304]: zone xxx.com/IN: refresh: failure trying master xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx#53: timed out
I just got one trust relationship wich is used by the scrip to fetch the master zone file using SCP.
wil i need DNSSEC or can i use other types of keys ?
if i need DNSSEC how do i set it up ?
