Talking DNS forwarders and A-Records

My domain name is listed as mydomain.org
the hosting company lists my DNS/MX record as:
mail.mydomain.org. IN A 66.123.123.xxx

Q?
How do I set up my internal RH9 (hostname: rh9l2) to be part of the "mydomain.org" so that I can make use of sendmail?

Is it as easy as making an entry in the hosts file?
Ex: 192.168.1.109 rh9l2.myhostname.org

Where do forwarders come in?

You will need to forward port 25 of whichever decice has that external ip address (router or other computer) to the ip address of the mail server. Then seup your MTA (sendmail if thats what you want to use) to accept mail for mydomain.org by editing the config files in:
/etc/mail/

Webmin is also very good for configuring sendmail:
http://www.webmin.com
