DNS and MX Records...

I work for a rural internet service provider, and we will be acquiring another local internet service provider soon. The new customers will be dialing up to us and receiving the DNS numbers from our servers. Currently the mail for our company.com goes to our mail server. On the DNS server, what changes need to occurr for any mail coming to the new.com to get routed to their email server. The DNS servers are running Slackware linux 10.0.

Any help is appreciated and let me know if you need any further information,

Thanks

Hello,

I may be wrong - but telling what I have seen from my tests:

First you have to add a new zone (only forward zone will do) for "new.com"
and map the IP to of their mail server with its domain name.
Then - configure your mail server to add a redirect rule for the "new.com"
so that any mail for "new.com" will be forwarded to their mail server.
Then - also allow their domain to RELAY mails through your mail server
in your mail server's configuration.

thanks.
