DNS and DDNS

Could someone please give me some good links and/or tutorials on making DNS and DDNS work? Any help would be appreciated, and I am looking for something other than what tldp.org has to offer. Thanks!

I apologize for the delay, got busy with life again(hate when that happens! )

We are attempting to run a caching nameserver for my internal network, and it is my understanding that in order to name my other computers (internally) I need to setup DDNS. When I say "naming" internally, rather than referring to each box by 192.168.0.something or other, i would rather be able to refer to them by homer.example.com. Hopefully I explained that clearly enough. I have no idea about anything relating to DDNS which is why I am asking about it.

The zone files would look something like this...

$TTL 3600
@ IN SOA dcphillips.net. hostmaster.dcphillips.net. (
200402261 ; Serial
1H ; Refresh
14400 ; Retry
3600000 ; Expire
86400 ) ; Minimum
NS ns0.dcphillips.net.
1 PTR mail.dcphillips.net.
2 PTR firedragon.dcphillips.net.
3 PTR zeus.dcphillips.net.
4 PTR winxp.dcphillips.net.
5 PTR sissy.dcphillips.net.
7 PTR firedragon.dcphillips.net.

the number to the left in the list of systems is the last octet in the ip address..

EXAMPLE: firedragon would be 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.7

There are a lot of possibilities, hope this can help some.
