I really hope someon can help.
I have a Wankdows XP setup with a Static IP address from my ISP, connecting via a Dlink DSL-302g via ethernet.
I have a Realtek Network card and have assigned the ip address to 10.1.1.5 subnet 255.0.0.0 and gateway to be 10.1.1.1 (modem/router) aswell as dns as 10.1.1.1.
I have also forwarded some ports namely 50000 to 60000
When I try and configure in Redhat using the Network Config Tool I add a new adapter, it finds the Realtek adapter on eth0.
it says it's active.
No where does it say anything about the modem.
I can ping 10.1.1.5 using the ping command
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this going.
I konw I am only a newbie but any help would be greatly appreciated
