DLink DI-524 and Virtual Server

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem with their DI-524 router.

I have one machine on my LAN acting as server, IP address 192.168.17.146. I have forwarded a couple of ports to this machine using the virtual server option in the router setup. Everything works fine for about a day then the router stops forwarding requests from the wan to this machine. I'm sure the machine is still fine because I can access all these ports/functions from anywhere else on the internal LAN but not externally. The only way I can fix the problem is by rebooting the router.

I thought the problem might be something to do with DHCP leases so I turned off the DHCP server and set everything up with static IP's but still no luck!

Anyone any ideas what could be causing this problem?

I had a like problem but only about every 3 months. The router lost/mangled it's settings due to electical interferance from the floor polisher.
Your DSL modem also craps out and you may be blaming it on the router.
Good you figured out you need fixed IPs.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one! It's defo the router because I have tried it with two different modems and different isp's and it still does it. Turning off DHCP helped a lot.

Ah, but were the settings changed when you logged into the router?
There are other causes. If you set static and yet the dhcp can still assign the same IP then you will have conficts. Make sure the static is outside the dhcp range.

No settings were still the exact same, router just stopped forwarding traffic for some reason. I disabled DHCP on the router and then just set up my pc network cards with IP addresses manually, made a bit of a difference but not much.
