I have the Same problem

I have a similar problem using fc7,

dhclient sets the host name to something which is not resolvable, or iptables rejects X connections on eth0. This causes X to take for ever to open a new termial.

I have tried making a /etc/dhclient.conf
with the lines
override host-name ="localhost"
override domain-name = " localdomain"

I have also tried supersede host-name

Does anybody know how to stop dhclient from setting the hostname

Many thanks
Peter Scott
