disable plug and play on isa nic

i think my network troubles are caused by pnp vs. manual configuration of the nic. how do i:

* disable plug and play so that it is forced to use the resources defined in rc.modules?

* to use plug and play only, do i just take out the lines in rc.modules and the alias line in modules.conf?

the card is a kingston KNE20T 10mbs isa nic. any advice is greatly appreciated.

In my case it worked just fine, boot with dos diskette, run the setup program from diskette, disable PnP , set the IRQ and DMA to your liking, close and reboot. I had a very simple Realtek 8019 ISA NIC.
