Directory Listing with apache

I am using apache version 2.0.40 on my Red Hat Linux 9. I want to display a directory listing on the browser, but it says "Access forbidden"
The directory has permissions of 755.
Can someone help me with this?

In httpd.conf (or .htaccess if it is enabled) for indexes to be displayed, you need the line

Options Indexes

Search your httpd.conf for Options -Indexes since this will be disabling viewing of directory listing.

Good luck

Thanks for the idea. The options had Indexes set, but I wanted to browse one of the home directories. For this I had to add another Directory directive adding the following line

<Directory /home/*/public_html>
Options Indexes
</Directory>

This finally worked!!
Thanks again!
