direct connect + su level scripts

i have two questions

1. is there a direct connect client like DC++ available for linux , although i use valknut , its not perfect .. (its a bit ugly 2) . if i am correct then DC++ is an open source client rite ?

2. where do i keep su level scripts that are to be executed at startup ? i tried adding the line

ifconfig eth1 add 172.16.20.24

to etc/rc.d/rc.local but it doesnt work , i want to add extra ip's to my nic .

rc.local will work for your needs.
However, the command does not work because it has the wrong syntax.

See man pages for ifconfig

ifconfig eth1:1 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx netmask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx up
