DI-604 router and problems with internet and mail

Hello,

I'm having problems with my router. I have three computers behind it.
One is Aurox 11.0 linux, second is Win XP and third Win 98.
And on all boxes there are the same problems. Up to somewhere about a week ago everything worked fine. Now I cannot open my mail accounts on commercial sites like for example yahoo.com. Besides some pages don't open on Firefox (Linux box) and open on Mozilla. For example youtube.com doesn't open on Firefox but works fine with the other web browser. So the problem wouldn't be so obnoxious if I could get myself to mail accounts. It must be matter of router because when I switched internet cable from router to the Linux computer directly everything worked fine. Has anyone of You run into such problem?. I have D-Link DI-604 router.

Cheers.

I have the same router that you do, and it works like a top, even though it's getting old. Your problem might be the date setup. Some sites will not allow a connection to a router that's set to the wrong date. Maybe the default NPS time server is no longer in operation. Another possibility is that you might have both static & dynamic dns enabled at the same time. Why anyone would need to do both is beyond me hehehe.

When all else fails it is perhaps just as easy to reset the thing with a toothpick (hidden reset button) & use the built-in wizard for a basic setup, then after that, edit it to your liking. These routers have so many features that it's possible to louse things up pretty easily.

Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this: you have to press $ hold the reset button in for about 10 or 15 seconds for it to take effect. A nice security feature, but it's really a pain if you don't know the trick.
