dhcpcd problems on slack-current

My dhcpcd will sometimes stop right out of the blue and connect back again like 5 minutes later. If I kill dhcpcd as soon as it goes out and i restart it it comes back instantly. Any thoughts? I'm on slackware 10.2 behind a router with NAT.
