I am allowed 5 IPs. I am no expert in DHCP or ISPs and whether or not it is common practice to allow the same MAC to allocate all 5, I do not know.
One of the main reasons for this setup is since the ISP "arp poisons" the network if I connect them all to a switch, i.e. all off my devices will get the wrong MAC for "my" ip's and all packets will be routed through the ISP effectively blocking some ports even on my own home LAN, as well as limiting bandwidth... pretty idiotic I suppose, not sure what the rationale behind this is, perhaps there is a common switch that me and my neighbors are connected to. Most probably, since when I arp poison the network myself I can read my neighbors traffic, mostly kids sitting on msn etc.. never mind... I only tested this of course to test the security. Anywho,
The linux box is the solution to several problems/features, and hopefully this can be solved without my devices having to be on internal ips, and of course with the IPs delivered by the ISP through DHCP.
