dhcp release and renew


quick question.

im using slack 8.
need to know how to set up a nic to use dhcp , rather then a static address.

also , how do you release and renew the dhcp ip.

Not sure if slackware has this package installed by default, but try running
$# netconf
that or look for the file
ifcfg-eth0 (in redhat its under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts)
and add the entry
BOOTPROTO="dhcp"

i think that should do it.
