Dhcp not getting configured ( tried everything ...almost)


I have kali running on vbox as :-

I don't actively use DHCP in my networks so I'm not much at it, but it almost looks like there's no DHCP server in your network... the request went out and no server replied with an offer.

How is the virtual adapter configured i.e bridged, NAT, host only etc.

Bridged mode.

For reference running the latest version 2016.1 in VB as is. eth0 is automatically configured via network manager/dhcp and assigned an IP address. So changing the interfaces files does not do anything. Are you running a DHCP server on your network?
