dhcp misconf?

dear mates

this is annoying me,

I am using one linux box which is connected to linksys dsl router-> and goes to internet
the same linux box is connected to a hub and in hub i connected another windows machine.

now i brought up this dhcpd service and at this time router was not working properly.

i got the ip address from linux box and windows pc was able to communicate with linx box.

after this i brought router and installed openvpn client and it will be connected to my friends browsing centre where he is running a openvpn server. the tunnel came up smooth..

here the problem starts

now restarted my windows machine with the DHCP option enabled. but i didnt get my LAN ip, instead i am getting my friends place ip address,

why my windows machine is looking at my linux box.

where i did the conf. error.

Sounds like your windows box gets two DHCP offers, one from your linux box and another from your friends server. This might be wrong but have a look in your /var/log/messages for DHCP offers.
